Happy New Year – FCRHA Receives 25 Additional SRAP Vouchers, 12.5% Increase in Administrative Fee

Starting in January 2020, the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) will receive an additional 25 housing vouchers through the State Rental Assistance Program (SRAP), which provides rental assistance to qualifying individuals with developmental disabilities. The FCRHA will also be receiving a fee increase of 12.5 percent per unit, per month for administering the program.

“When it comes to housing vouchers, the saying goes ‘success-begets-success’,” said Amy Ginger, Deputy Director of Operations for the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development. “We are proud to be recognized as a trusted, efficient and effective partner with the commonwealth as we continue to receive additional resources to assist many of our most vulnerable residents find homes that meet their individual needs.”

As of January 1, 2020, the FCRHA will administer a total of 125 housing vouchers through SRAP, which enhances personal independence and provides the financial means to better enable eligible individuals with disabilities to choose where they live, with whom they live and who supports them. The program is provided in partnership with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
