Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 Reston Interfaith has been selected to present a foreclosure conference session at the 2009 Virginia Housing Conference, to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18 to Friday, Nov. 20 at the Norfolk Marriott in Norfolk, Virginia. The session, Affordable Housing and Foreclosure Crisis: Standing in the Gap with Resources for Moving Ahead will provide a general overview on the foreclosure crisis and the organization’s response to the crisis, community education outreach, pre-foreclosure counseling, post-foreclosure assistance, and alternative options to clients who cannot prevent foreclosure. Participants will learn about Reston Interfaith’s rapid re-housing approach, which will utilize 87 units of affordable housing. Reston Interfaith is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing for homeless families and supportive services to families at-risk of homelessness in Northern Virginia. Reston Interfaith received the second place award for Excellence in Affordable Housing Management Including Service at the 2008 Enterprise National Conference in Baltimore, MD.
