Governing Board Chair Appointed for Fairfax-Falls Church Partnership to Prevent and End Homelessness Michael O’Reilly, founder of the Herndon-based O’Reilly Law Firm, has been appointed by the Board of Supervisors to serve as the chair of the newly formed Governing Board of the Fairfax-Falls Church Partnership to Prevent and End Homelessness in Ten Years. Mr. O’Reilly has served with several local commissions, boards and organizations, including two consecutive terms as a member of the Herndon Town Council. Mr. O’Reilly served as the Mayor of the Town of Herndon from 2004 to 2006. In March 2008, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved the Implementation Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness in the Fairfax-Falls Church Community in Ten Years. The Fairfax-Falls Church Partnership to Prevent and End Homelessness in Ten Years will consist of nonprofit, business, government and faith-based groups working in partnership to develop resources and deliver collaborative services to end homelessness in the community. The Governing Board will provide leadership for this community-county partnership and consists of elected officials, community leaders and representatives from authorities, faith-based groups, businesses and foundations. The Governing Board’s responsibilities include setting policy direction, raising community visibility and the resource development capability necessary for the successful implementation of the plan.
