Public Hearing on Proposed Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan for FY 2010

The Consolidated Community Funding Advisory Committee (CCFAC) invites you to a public hearing that will be held on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia, on the Proposed Consolidated Plan One –Year Action Plan for FY 2010.

The Proposed One-Year Action Plan for FY 2010 identifies the proposed use of funds for the four federal programs with an estimated amount of $8.8 million:  Community Development Block Grant (CDBG - $5,928,982), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME - $2,448,559), Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG - $265,518), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA - $180,000).  The funding levels used reflect the funding levels of FY 2009 until HUD notification of FY 2010 grant awards.  It is estimated that there will be approximately $310,070 in CDBG program income and $52,211 in HOME program income.

In FY 2009, the county will receive $2,807,300 in funding for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), a new federal program to provide emergency assistance funds for redevelopment of abandoned and foreclosed homes and residential properties.  NSP funds will be committed to eligible projects in FY 2009-FY 2010.

Copies of the Proposed Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan for FY 2010 will be available for review on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 online at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/rha, at the Citizen Information Desk located on the lobby level of the Government Center, and at the information desk of all branches of the Fairfax County Public Library system.  Copies may be obtained at the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development, 3700 Pender Drive, Suite 300, Fairfax, Virginia 22030.  All of the above mentioned locations are accessible to persons with disabilities.
