REMINDERS:
Deadline for Application for CHDO Funds Approaching

In August, the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) announced the availability of Community Housing Development Corporation (CHDO) set-aside funds under the federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME). Project proposals are being solicited to construct, acquire, or rehabilitate affordable housing. Up to $402,624 is available for HOME CHDO funds based on the federal requirement to set-aside at least 15% of the county's annual funding under the HOME Program for CHDO-eligible activities. There is an emphasis on the purchase of foreclosed homes this funding round.

The next meeting of the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is scheduled for September 26, 2008, 9 AM to Noon, at the Fairfax County Government Center, Rooms 9 and 10.
