Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan for FY 2009

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 31 at 4 p.m. in the Board Auditorium of the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia, on the Proposed Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan for FY 2009. The Proposed Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan for FY 2009 identifies the proposed use of funds for the four federal programs with an estimated amount of $8.8 million:  Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA). 

The Proposed Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan for FY 2009 also includes the first year of the two-year funding cycle for the Consolidated Community Funding Pool (CCFP) for FY 2009-2010.  It identifies funding of an estimated $11.0 million in federal, state and local funds to be made available to nonprofit organizations for community-based programs that are recommended for awards.  Copies of theProposed Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan for FY 2009 are available for review online at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/rha.  Printed copies are available at the Citizen Information Desk located on the lobby level of the Government Center or from the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development offices located at 3700 Pender Drive, Suite 300, Fairfax, Virginia 22030 or 8350 Richmond Highway, Suite 527, Alexandria, Virginia, 22309. 

Those wishing to comment on the Proposed Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan for FY 2009 may do so by testifying in person at the public hearing on Monday, March 31, or by writing to Richard V. Dunn, Housing and Community Developer, Grants Management, Department of Housing and Community Development, 3700 Pender Drive, Fairfax, Virginia  22030.  All persons wishing to testify may register in advance by calling the Clerk to the Board of Supervisors at 703-324-3151 (TDD 703-324-3903).  The deadline for receipt of written comments on the Proposed Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan for FY 2009 will be 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9.
