2008 Virginia General Assembly Session Begins; Variety of Housing-related Issues Being Considered
On-line System an Easy Way to Track Progress of Bills

The 2008 session of the Virginia General Assembly got underway on January 9, with a number of housing-related bills being considered.  Among the topics that are the subject of proposed legislation to date are overcrowding, blight and a statewide housing trust fund. 

The State of Virginia provides a fast and easy way to learn about and track the progress of bills that have been introduced in the House and Senate.  The web-based Legislative Information System can search for bills by topic, bill number and sponsor, and provides a summary and the full text of the bill, and tracks the legislation’s progress.  The Legislative Information System can be accessed by using the following link:  http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?ses=081&typ=lnk&val=02
