Reminder: Non-profit Dialogue Set for Jan. 16, 2009
Opportunity to Provide Input on Application Process for Federal Foreclosure Funds Added to the Agenda
The Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) will host a Non-profit Dialogue event on Friday, Jan. 16, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Rooms 2 and 3 of the Fairfax County Government Center. As previously announced, the agenda for the meeting includes a discussion of the draft Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) Strategic Plan-Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2010.
Added to the agenda is an opportunity for non-profit organizations to provide input on the application process for Fairfax County’s federal Stabilization Program (NSP) foreclosure funds and other NSP programmatic considerations. Non-profit housing developers as well as service providers are strongly encouraged to attend this session.
Fairfax County plans to make $1 million in NSP funds available as loans to non-profit organizations purchasing foreclosed homes. NSP funds are intended to provide loans to purchase foreclosed or abandoned homes and to rehabilitate, resell, or redevelop these homes in order to stabilize neighborhoods and stem the decline of house values of neighboring homes. HCD is in the process of developing guidelines and procedures for the funds and is seeking the input of the non-profit community on issues such as application process, maximum loan amounts, and other programmatic considerations.
Fairfax County is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination in all County programs, services and activities and will provide reasonable accommodations upon request. To request special accommodations call 703-246-5101 or TTY 703-385-3578. Please allow seven working days in advance of the event in order to make the necessary arrangements
